An anonymous Deus in adjutorium à 18 from the Royal Music Manuscript collection of the British Library. Copied in an eighteenth century hand, this piece appears alongside works by Rosenmüller, Krieger, Rossi and other mid- to late-seventeenth century composers. The British Library manuscript has the designation Hautbois next to the two upper wind parts, but the parts are similar to Rosenmüller's writing for cornett elsewhere in the MS. This edition was commissioned by the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montreal for a performance in which the second instrumental choir was formed of two cornetti and two sackbutts.
